    They eat crabs and snails, if that makes them 'bad' so be it. Large species that are kept in tanks too small for them can crack the glass, but that would be the owner's fault and not the mantis.

    Edit: oh spearer types do eat small fish which you probably see as 'bad' but its no different than having a lionfish, grouper, etc.
