Thats a great start for a 40 breeder, I used that same package as a base for my 90.
$20 bucks for shipping is pretty good. you will love the rock, be sure to add the sand first then add a few gallons of RO water till the level is a few inches over the sandbed, then add your salt water slowly (preferably by dripping it on the rock) so you dont stir it up.

thanks for the tips! definatly gonna need them. but i was thinking was put the sand in then put a plastic sheet over it and pour pre-made salt water over it to up to about 3 inches so the sand doesnt stir. then take out then plastic and place the rocks in and like you said pour the water over the rocks. would that work?

even putting the plastic there isnt gonna save you from the dusty look, its still going to cloud. put the sand down, put the rocks down, but make sure you kinda bury them so that the bottom of the rock in resting on the glass. that way if you get a critter that digs or something it wont cause a rock slide. pour the water in either on the rocks or put a plate down on the sand so it hits the plate when pouring.

thanks! I think im gonna go with the open water and overhang look for this tank so nothing will be resting against the glass so i guess ill just use the epoxy putty for aquarium rock. btw telgar i checked out your tank and the rock at the very bottem is the key largo? whats towards the top?

actually the key largo is all across the top, most of the more solid looking rock at the bottom of the pile is some fiji rock I had from the tanks original setup from the 90's

thats the package I got a while back for my 60 cube. I then added another 20lbs rocks. The rock is great, but the sand is really fine and if you plan on a setup with a lot of flow, sand will be blowing around.
