I once had a maroon clownfish that was in a 20 gallon tank with a 6-line wrasse. they were introduced on the same day and got along for 2 years until one day I came downstairs to find half a six-line wrasse floating in my tank : /

with one very full and proud looking clownfish

in direct response to this, whenever I have issue of two clowns fighting, I will set use specimen container (you know the ones) that I have for just this reason.

I drilled holes into it so that water can flow through, I then place in INSIDE the tank. hanging on the inside edge...the clowns will butt heads through the plastic for sometimes days, but they will eventually stop and you can tell that they "want" to swim together. Then I release the new clown into the display :)

    thats the approach i did

Little by little with the introductions and let them see each other through the pot. There final introduction happened soon than expected as he jumped out the pot but touch wood it will have a happy ending

in my experience with clownfish breeding and mating, after two weeks of being together, I rarely see clownfish really hurt each other.... but when it comes to maroon clownfish, I have had some strange specimens

Hands down the gold striped maroon is one of the prettiest and majestic looking of the clowns.

this is hilarious - you must be a fish whisperer swiss - my tapping on the glass and a serious look of disapproval has never stopped fish fighting :)

I have only seen pictures of them and they are impressive although I still think the gold stripe are my favourite. Maybe I am just biased :)

An update for tonight. The smaller one is still in his corner but whilst the larger clown knows where it is from what I have seen she has pretty much left it alone.

She won't let him come out and feed as yet but from what I understand this is part of the course to show her dominance and to try and get most of the food to now grow.

Hopefully the male will still get something as don't want him to starve
