Melafix

Can any of you guru's tell me if i can use melafix in my main tank with inverts in there and mushroom coral???????...

 

From googling it. It can be used but causes your skimmer to go nuts. It's a bactera treatment and does little to treat anything other than bacteria.

 

Sorry jason, should of explained , i know what it does just wondered if anybody had any experience with it in the saltwater tank, i have some from using in my freshwater tank, but thank you...

 

I used in a quarantine tank !!! on clownfish

 

It is suppose to be safe, but if you have a hospital tank I wouldnt try it

 

Works fine, just turn off your skimmer and take out any carbon if you are running it. When I used it, I had no mushrooms in the tank, so I can't help you there.

 

I have read it is safe for inverts and coral, getting to the point now where i really do have to use something, and i don't have a quarantine tank, just wanted some personnal usage info, how were the rest of the fish bogie & did u under dose to be safe, what fish did you have in the tank?

 

i have used it with my inverts and they are all fine. Turn your skimmer off and ozonizer (if you have one) and remove all carbon and pollyfilters.

But as previously stated, it only works against bacteria. I think the main ingrediant is tea tree oil.

 

Bacteria is what the fish has i think it is fin rot, what about corals were they alright and did you under dose???

 

I did not under dose and when i say inverts that included my coral which i still have today
