These sculptures are Carved completely out of wood by an artist(josh guge) that competed them at a local Waterfowl Carving Competition. I am involved in Waterfowl/songbird carving and have been to multiple shows around the country and have never seen Fish carvings of this type, I thought y'all may appreciate them.

WOW those are seriously incredible!Is the entire piece carved from wood or is just the fish carved out? I really like the incredible amount of detail that is put into them W/ all of the fishes scales and everything else


Just for curiosity sake do you know what kinda price range those go for?

 

The fish are wood as well as the majority of the base. Probably the coral holding up the fish is metal rods covered with epoxy or melted to shape. The rules are everything hast to be made by the artist. If I had to guess on price, I would say the angel is over $2500. I'm not sure how much Josh Guge sells his pieces for but, he is a World Master so probably on the higher end. Some carvings by various Artists sell anywhere from $100-$300,000. Fish of that nature are rarely carved so it's hard for me to judge. If you want to contact the artist
