My hippo tang and my flame angel are showing a little ich. The hippo tang showed a few spots a couple of days ago and hasn't gotten any worse. The Flame angel showed it the next day but sees to be getting worse.

I added a cleaner shrimp but he's a worthless slacker that seems more inclined to fight anything that comes near him rather than clean it.

Everyone's still eating well and my water parameters are still at 0s. My salinity is at about 1.026, I intend to bring it down slowly.

I was going to put another cleaner shrimp in there and start feeding a little heavier with a garlic soak. Anyone have a better idea before this thing gets out of hand on me?

If they are still eating well then try spectrum thera + a pellets or soaking food in selcon. The garlic soak is really nothing more than enticer. The immune boosting chemical that you may be thinkin will help is only found in fresh squeezed garlic. I think its called allicin and it loses its potency quickly when exposed to air.

I wouldn't reduce your salinity if you have inverts in the tank, they don't take as well to it as fish do. Also I believe cleaner shrimp do not directly help with ich, they may help the fish feel less stressed or help them with overall health but AFAIK they've never found the ich bugs in the guts of cleaner shrimp so it's not like they are cleaning the ich off of them like I think is a common perception.

There are a huge range of opinions on how to treat ich. I personally don't have an opinion yet as I haven't had to deal with it personally. I bet if you search 3reef here you'll find a large number of opinions on how to handle it.
