    I only had 5 of them in my tank at one point and they took care of dead chromis before i even realized they were dead.

    I could see that if it were one fish. But for both of them to cash in their chips on the same night seems odd.

    I had a maroon missing for two months, found it alive in the overflow box. The other maroon would never go far from the overflow the entire time his friend was gone.

    Lost my other maroon a month ago, never found it.

    One of our clowns went missing also. After 2 weeks, found him in overflow alive and healthy. Don't give up.

    You would be shocked at what an elephant ear can eat. The fish can be completely healthy too. Once their prey is captured, they spit out their mesenterial filaments and can digest animals that are quite large.
