I have a 75 gallon im looking to light for a reef.
My question is to save heat in the tank and have
different lighting intensities for "light loving
corals" and corals that dont require high lighting.
I was thinking a 150 MH on one side and 96 watts
of t5 on the other? Sound good? anyone doing this?

at the depth of the 75 gallon tanks,i think less than 20 inches, you might not see a difference between mh and t5 accept the t5 will not give the rippling effect.if you do it,i'd love to see which side is brighter.

80w t5's can keep sps, but i prefer mh. a combination of both is nice. i also have a 75g with 2-250w mh and 4-65w pc that houses mainly sps. i wouldnt have pc on one side and mh on the other, both the left and right side of the tank should have the same lighting.
