molting cleaner shrimp

    I have a cleaner shrimp that maybe molting he is laying on the sand kind of twitching for about an hour now. any idea how long the molting process takes? I am hoping more than an hour;D

    Don't really know for sure but they usually hide for a while after they do.

    i've actually never seen mine molt, it ususally does it at night and the next day i find the empty shell

    my shrimp just did and it was about 5 hr from what i can tell.

    I have a peppermint shrimp that I saw molt once (although usually it is at night and I miss it). I wouldn't have called it 'twitching' but I could see how it would look that way. I just took it to be him (or her) separating himself from his skin before he backed out of it. He's fine now and has molted twice more since then.
