For those of you that DON'T have moon lights built into your light fixture, what do you employ to duplicate moon lights?
Ie. DIY or specific brand of moon light...

I bought a set of 4 LEDs on ebay and and just glued them to my T5 light I have 2 white LED's and 2 Blue LED's alternating everyother one across the tank and it looks great! Are moonlights good for the tank? I just thought they looked cool

Do any of you guys leave blue led lighting on at night, or 24/7? Curious.

My Orbit light has 4 white LEDs built-in. They are on 24/7 unless I unplug them, and the daylight and actinic bulbs I turn on and off manually until I pick up a timer.
I think any LEDs in the 1 to 5 watt range would work fine, and they can probably be bought on an online electronics website or radio shack for much less than the LED sets marketed towards aquarium use.
I'm thinking about trying something like these (still browsing to shop around) to add a blue effect at night:

Moonlights are beneficial as they allow you to view nighttime activity without disturbing with a bright light or flashlight even.
In many cases it can also spawn sexual responses in certain corals, Clams etc.
Plus as you mentioned, they look great

My moonlight is one of those under the cabinet LED lights from Lowes ($16) with a dimer switch. It gives out a pretty blue light and I can adjust the brightness. It works great. Here is a pic of the light.

I have a DIY light fixture so I bought these LED's and attached them between my T-5's using piece of wood that I drilled holes and put the lights into.
