When I bought my tank the guy gave me a box of things to go through and I found a Odyssea Blue Moon light (LED) in it. I have a couple questions. 1. Do these light serve a purpose or are they more for looks. 2. Is this one light enough for my 140 Gallon tank? It is 24" and has 15 lights in it. Thanks in advance for everyones help.

More for you than the fish but I like them. Probably not enough for your tank but try it and see, 2 might do it. Some people say it helps spawning as well, but never been my experience

Moon Lights / Lunar Lights.... all the same. They are for looks only. More or less to get a slight view of the nocturnal life underwater. May possibly help fish/inverts and so on....

I have them on my 72 gal reef tank. They make my corals look amazing when they're on.

They really don't do a whole lot for the inhabitants of the tank, but it is super nice looking to get a little glow from the tank and check out some of the night life in the tank.
