    What are the most important things to test for with coral?

    I need a new test kit, any suggestions is there one that has everything?

    Make that plural and you'll get three answers :D

    Calcium
    Magnesium
    Alkalinity

    They're all equally important in a reef.

    I agree and would add

    Nitrate and Phosphate.

    No, but API makes one that is almost that.

    They have a "SW Test Kit" and a "Reef Test Kit"

    If you buy those two you'll have everything other than Mg. (API doesn't make Mg test). For that, I recommend against Red Sea and for Salifert.


    API is a good beginner test kit. As you run out of those kits (at different rates) I would suggest replacing them one -by -one with a different brand to see if you like it better...
