Well, for some reason I have problems with Mushroom Corals coming out 100%. So, I asked the guy at my LFS and he said to dose Iodine. What do you guys think?

Ohh, my tank is 55g, and my lighting is Current USA t5 48" (2x54w). This should be plenty for Mushrooms, yes? My waterflow is good. I mean, my LPS is growing, but my Mushrooms aren't. There's a problem here...

    Thank you.

You could try the iodine. I never really had a dosing problem with mushrooms, but I have used iodine to speed up xenia growth.

Be careful with dosing it, I'm pretty sure if you over dose you'll have drastic adverse affects.

I started off with one mushroom on one of my big rocks, now I have over a hundred on it. I have never dosed Iodine. I have noticed my mushrooms are fully opened after replacing a non-functioning heater. It seems to me that they are sensative to temp fluctuations. What is the temp of your tank?

something could be nipping at them? mushrooms are pretty much indestructible in my experience, you could try lowering them if they are up high? those t5's are brighter than you might think, and a lower flow area is also a good idea

I would say Low, because it's at the bottom. I mean it comes out, but not as much as in the store I bought it from. They have Fluorescents, I have t5's...

1 set is low, 1 set is high. Both are in low flow.

How long have you had them? My experience with shrooms is that they act different depending on the area of flow. I've also noticed them more open higher up in the tank but dont know if thats related to more light or more flow, maybe both. Sometimes they are a bit shy for a few days after being relocated also and I have also gotten better growth my grouping them closer to each other.
