I'm not saying they're bad, I just think they get too much credit for what people give them. And I don't think you're gay...not that it matters at all.

    The Beatles

Not my 'cup of tea' either :) But what an amazing time. Before the Beatles ( et al) it was the adults in the households who decided the family entertainment. Children, generally did not have personal radios or record players and had to beg borrow or steal the opportunity to listen to "new" music and embrace the differences from what their parents enjoyed.

So what happened? What do you think Bruce?

The Beatles and "Rock n Roll" in general, ushered in a new era for the American family and nothing has been the same since. Children or young adults are free to express themselves because of this. I am not old enough to know what it was like to grow up as a child in the 30's 40's 50's or 60's but I can guarantee you it is very different in my household than it was back then. Some things never change, boy meets girl etc... But other things have, such as the interaction between the parent and the child at the dinner table...Whether or not this is a "good" thing will be decided by whoever writes the history books in the next fity years or so.
And yes, I like the Beatles music. If you listen to the less commercialized tracks you can hear a musical genius there that took them beyond the initial star crazed teeny bopper years. Definitely not a "one hit wonder" band.
