Ok, so these tanks don't belong to me, but I manage the local Petco and I have made our salt water section my personal responsibility. I have been trying to order a better of variety of fish and clean them for atleast an hour a day five days a week. So hear are a few of the fish I have hear.

I am also ordering a few others this thursday. Any Suggestions?

Hear are a few teaser pics of a 40G breeder set up I am doing with a 29G sump/refuge. The stand just needs a few more coats of black paint, the cabinet doors, and crown molding mounted. I am also building the matching Canapy. Should have it all hooked up and running by the end of the week.

Your selection is admirable. There is quite a diversity. I would say get some Royal Gramma and Cardinal, although the Cardinal are delicate and you may find them hard to keep.

nah, hopefully you can change that culture around. everything looks good. ditto on the royal gramma. firefish seem to be fairly popular, too. good luck!

    Karma to you.

Congrats on the fine looking store and selection.

I am a Petco fan and glad to see an employee on here to help me defend you all.

Thanks I appreciate the kind words. I spend most my day in the fish department. I also have 40 more fresh water tanks. The freshwater tanks are really easy to care for and stay pretty clean. I have a few other fish there that I forgot to take pic's of. I have a really pretty 2" Ebilii Angel in right now. I know Petco has a terrible rep for there aquatic department, but my store is brand new and I have a great staff that takes really good care of our animals. Plus all our aquariums where built for us by Marine Land. They have a repair shop a few miles from us. For those of you that do like Petco and want to get fish there. Check out our website, write down the sku for the fish you want and head to your local petco and ask them to special order it for you. If they have a salt water section and an available tank, it shouldn't be a problem. I have a green carpet anamea coming in for a customer on thursday, and I can't wait to see it.

I am really curious, what type of water do you use? The reason I ask is that the local chain pet store here actually ripped out a ~$4,000 RO unit and now use tap water and constantly have trouble with algae of all kinds.... genius I tell you ::)

BTW seems like you are taking good care of it, any plans to house corals? And what kind of lighting you got on them?

We use distilled water and I mix the salt in myself. I then test the water before and after I put it in the sump. The sump also has a large Biowheel built in protein skimmer and UV sterilizer. The whole system was custom built by marine land.

I know our distributer is in LA. I don't remember the distributers name, but I will check on thursday. That maroon clown was in a tank with 2 others and he was the smallest. They where nipping at his fins and picking on him pretty bad, so I just moved him to his own tank and he will hopefully get better. We have been having alot of problems with the larger maroons picking on the smaller ones. The False Percula's chase each other alot but never nip. I also noticed none of the marrons would give the sabea anamea we had in there the time of day. So I put the Sabea in with the False Percula clowns and they love it.

As far as coral, I am fighting that battle right now. The lights are PC's I believe. I will be meeting with one of the marine land techs on thursday to discuss the cost of upgrading our lighting so we can have a frag tank. I then haft to get approval from my District Manager. Which will be like pulling teeth.

I also trying to get her to let me do a display nano tank and put some coral in there. I have also emailed our corporate office about carrying the new marine land protein skimmer and metal halide lights. Hopefully I can get Petco to step up there salt water game.
