My 20Tall

So the tank looks like crap. It is currently brackish and i have plans of making it FO or FOWLR. It has been housing my Green Spotted Puffer or over a year now. My puffer is an extremly aggressive fish and kills anything that enters his tank. But for how aggressive he is, he's an extremly lazy fish, he moves slow, goes up and down the tank, and sleeps a lot. I've been fighting algae problems because i have been using tap water and mixing salt in the tank and treating it with prime. BUT now i want to turn it to FOWLR so i've been working on turning it to salt and have been using RODI water for water changes. I plan on getting a small powerhead and a small amount of base rock once my levels are at marine. I also would like to add a Purple Pseudochromis to the tank and see if it survives.

Also, he's a very shy fish so i had to take pics from my bed because he is afraid of the camera and darts off when i come close to the tank.

 

Sounds like a fun project. I've had my 20t running for a few years now.
Do you plan on leaving that substrate and rock in there? Any additional filtration?

 

yea this 20T is going to be a lot of work.

As far as subtrate i don't know if i should keep it or not. All i know is, is that sand is hard to get out, so i will probably just leave it, or add to it. The only filter that i have is a 10 gall HOB because my 20gall filter died on me. I also have a seaclone 100 skimmer on the tank, it doesn't do anything and isin't working properly, so i just use it to create some flow. But i think i will take it down and not have a skimmer. And i'll need to replace the filter with something, but not to sure right now. And the rock thing will deffiently come out, even though he loves it lol, so that will be replaced with base rock

This is all in the very beginning of the planning stages so i haven't really thought out anything just yet

 

so since i've been doing water changes and top offs with ro/di saltwater, i have noticed the annoying thick red algae has reduced and salanity is rising and is at 1.019. I'm hoping that it won't be to long until i can find some cheap base rock to throw in the tank

did some work on the tank today. No more algae! yay! now that i'm using my ro/di water i have noticed the algae has really cut down.

hes cool. about how long has it taken you to get it to full marine and about how long is he? or she?

 

he looks like a cool fish i used to have 2 of them but i lost them because i didnt do my research and the guy who sold me them said they were fresh water no mention of them needing to go brakish i miss them they had tons of personality.
