Something to be aware of, I was using one also as a powerhead, crazy flow! After about 18 months it began making noises, starting and stopping. My hubby fiddled with it multiple times and seemed to be better. Then about a month later he walked out into our kitchen where the tank is and smelled burning electrical! Yikes, it was the maxi jet. Glad it didn't zap my tank or start a fire. Oh, get on the magnet thing too, I walked into the room on muliple different occasions and the cups had released and the thing was either blowing sand everywhere, or spraying water up and out of the tank! Lol.
