I guess this tank was born today 10/1/2009

I had to make multiple trips to the LFS for ro/di saltwater, so I ended up having to add some b4 I could add my rock (it came today and I had to wait for it)

some of the BRS pukanani rock I got, that is a 2 foot long level, I ordered about 40lbs trying to do a lil less than 1.5lbs per gallon but I could seriously only get about half of what they sent me to fit, it is really porous.

all quick iphone shots, Im about to head to work now.

I need to add salt or something, I got a refractomiter from BRS and calibrated it with their solution 1.026 triple checked it, then checked my water 1.022~, it was supposed to be 1.025 no biggie my LFS owner is a pretty good guy im sure he will make it right.

Going to up the salinity and once the temperature is right im going to add a damsel to try to kick off the cycle.

i really like that rock and aquascaping. did you check the salinity with a refractrometer or a hydrometer? hydrometers arent the best. mine is out .003. can i ask why you went with cc as the substrate? what is the rock worth? also are you running a timer for the lights?

After getting a refracto I would never trust a hydrometer.. they are so unreliable!

    Answers to the q's -

I used a refractometer(sp) and calibrated it and double checked with the included liquid from BRS. The included solution is stated to be 1.026 and it was in a sealed container in a sealed bag.

The rock is fiji " Pukani Dry Rock " from BRS its totally dry / dead rock. The rock is between 2.79 and 3 per pound and you save a lot on shipping since it does not need to be rushed, if I think its worth the price, I would say definately, I got way way more than I need volume wise, and I only used half of what they sent in my 40lb order, Im gonna weight whats left maybe they sent a lot more, idk?

The right side has just as much room as the left side, its just a bad/quick off center picture from my iPhone.
