it's been growing quickly lately, and then yesterday it split. Is there any special care or advice for the new, small btas? Tia!

congrats! i started off with one small BTA 2 years ago and now i have SIX in my 20 gallon tank. i really need to try to find a fellow reefer to trade w/ for frags or a LFS that's willing to give me credit.
i never gave them any special care...i don't feed my anenomes anyway...i let them fend for themselves or snag a meal from the clownfish...

BTAs are getting harder and harder to find these days so I wouldn't be surprised if your LFS is more than willing to offer you store credit!

within a few days of a split i usually give some very finely chopped krill to both of them

i'm averaging a split every 3 months right now

Ah, but you forget where I live... ;)
I was told that if it was just a plain "brown" color that they wouldn't be able to sell it, but might be able to just give it to an employee. I guess only "fancy" BTAs will do down here...
    :p

Snooty Greenwich-ers  You could put them up for sale on the club forum on R/C if you're so inclined? You may have to be a member to sell here though:

    CT Area Reef Society

Or you can post them for sale here:

Connecticut Fish Stores - Connecticut Fish Stores - Index

    Sorry for the hijack :)
