Alright, so I had a bit of a diatom outbreak and it was looking unsightly. My tank has been up almost a month now and my false perc wasn't making it any cleaner. So today I went to the LFS to get a clean up crew. Came back with 5blue legged hermits and three snails (forgot what kind shoot). I put them in the tank, scattered hermits, placed snails. After about twelve hours one snail has cleaned the top of an entire rock. These guys are so freaking awesome. Just thought I'd stress the importance of a clean up crew once again.

Did/do you have to acclimate a CUC?

Yes you have to acclimate your CUC. Although the degree to which you acclimate varies. Star fish and shrimp should be drip acclimated, most hermits and snails can be floated for 10 minutes and dumped in.
