i bought him today.coral beauty angelfish. it was a hard choice between this and the flame angel, but i preferred the colors of the coral beauty, the colors are really bright. i only have a pic of it in the bag. it's hiding in the rock so i can't get a pic in the tank.

    yeah it is.
since i put it in the tank i haven't really seen it though. it's been hiding in the rocks. is this normal? there are no other fish in the tank, so no bullying.

Its reasonably normal for any fish when placed in a new enviroment to feel a little insecure at 1st

IME its often much easier for subsequent additions as they can see the activity of the resident fish and are more likely to feel secure much earlier

as long as you took you time to acclimatise it properly for temp and water conditions
then it should be OK and gradually gain confidence and spend more time front and centre

ok, i guess i'm just worrying for no reason. it does look healthy though from what i can see. it is moving around a lot too, but within the rock work. i acclimatised it for about 2 hrs.

Awesome looking Coral! Best of wishes for you! My blueface loves the rockwork... I believe that might be an angelfish thing.. Hes always hiding and bolts out of nowhere and plays in the open water! But anywho, Good Luck!

My coral beauty hid in her cave for 2 days when I first got her. Now she is all over the tank. Just give it a little more time for her to get settled in....not sure why, but to me all coral beauties are girls.....LOL! go figure....
