I have been a lazy effer and just plopped my skimmer in my wet dry as is, so my water level in my sump has always been low, 5" or so. I finally got around to making a stand for my EV-180 to lift it 6" up. I would have done more, but that was the max I could lift it and still be able to remove the collection cup. It's not much, but it was easy to do. I just used regular 1/2" PVC all around. I didn't glue it together, just pressed them together really tight. I'll be putting my Mag7 under it (under the skimmer) to give me more room.

Thanks! :) Now I just need to turn that tank off and get it in place. I guess I'll just do my cleaning a few days early. :)

Update: Anyone that wants to perch their skimmer on a stand like this, you will have to adjust it again since the head will change slightly from the feed pump. Also, don't use an elbow, especially if the output is only 1/2" to begin with, it just kills the feed pressure.
