My tank

it's been a while since ive been on here so i figured i'd throw up some new pictures. went through a rut with this tank when i had a giant cyano outbreak and about reached the point of cutting my losses and tearing it down. thankfully i found the source of the issue and took care of it. seems to be bouncing back pretty well

 

and last night re did my sump setup completely and ditched my fuge for a skimmer. bought a reef octopus 8'' a while back when i was thinking of setting up the 55 gallon tank i've got sitting in my living room and have been itching to try it out so decided to try it in the 20 gallon for a bit. i've been told you can't over skim but does this seem to be overkill at all?

here's the sump and skimmer. i was sad to realize i made a noob mistake buying a skimmer off of craigslist without a lid for the collection cup. necessity led to drunken innovation ;D in the second pic you can see we took the lid off of a cd-rw tray i had laying around and slightly modified it. the funniest part is it couldn't have been any more perfect of a fit
