Unfortunately, all the experience in the world makes no difference here. It has strict dietary needs. There are many variables associated with keeping/feeding this fish and other dragonettes. Training one to accept prepared, having an established colony of various micro-fauna, culturing pods, finding one that isn't already imminently starving etc.... For what it's worth, I waited 12+ years before I decided I had what I needed to keep one. Maybe look into some of the wrasse family? Welcome to 3reef!!!!!!

Your dory... or blue tang... will outgrow that 55 very quickly... and your sure you have a proten skimmer... with collection cup? Just checking... that makes a huge difference on how many fish you can keep. Reason i ask is b/c you didnt know the term "powerhead".
I would recommend a firefish like stated before.. pretty fish..small.. and not real expensive

yes, the blue tang was one my son had picked because of the movie after I had him in tank I learned that I would be trading him in when he gets to big... It is a protein skimmer and I have been cleaning the collection cup out a lot when I first started, now not so bad, Yes its called a turbo pump, "power-head", anyway lets just say that when I started I got a lot of bad advice and I bought or started out hard and fast... Now I'm taking my time and trying to learn all the lingo and make my saltwater tank last a long time. I also have a EHEIM external canister filter.. I will Google firefish, I am looking for different color's then the ones that I have. I know that sounds funny but every one has quirks... thank you for your help Nancy
