I just wondering if any of you guys have had experience or heard anything about the Taam Rio nano protein skimmer? Im lookin for a nano skimmer to put on my 14g mini reef tank.

I also looked at the tunze neno skimmer but it was a little pricey. I just wanted to know if the Taam did even a decent job.

I used a rio nano skimmer on my 5.5 gal i had.. Did a decent job... Its only rated up to 20 gallon so I would consider something rated higher for your tank.. I will be recieving my AquaC Remora Pro rated at 40-120 gallon for my 20H tomorrow.. I would get something rated at, at least 40 gallon...

Yes spend the extra money, cause you'll end up buying a better skimmer anyways. I have an AquaC with a Maxijet on my 16g. The Tunze is very good, too. I went with the AquaC, becuase I will be able to use it on a bigger tank. Muhahahaha!

I'm looking for a skimmer on my nanocube too. I know the Tunze you are referring to, $120+ is a bit pricey for something that may not fit in that tank. I don't know if that is the same scenario of your tank. I have a lot of scrap acrylic left over from my fuge build, so I'm gonna try my hand at making one.

Let me know how that works. If it seems to be working really well then i might see if you could make me one or send me the plans.

Will do. I'm finishing up on my new fuge, so after I'm done with that, I'll be putting the nano skimmer together. I'll post it in the DIY section if it works out well. :)
