Or is it the larger issue that it's simply not practical at this time?

Again, if it was easy or even somewhat practical to use sunlight on our tanks, don't we all agree that many more people would be doing it?

Certainly ;) I'm just pointing out some options for those who don't like easy and/or practical :)

and how many impractical things do we see on sale every single day?
I'm just saying that I'm surprised I haven't seen anything available that could host this "impractical" use. I know I would be game for something like this, not to use the light for coral growth, but so that I could setup my tanks next to windows and not have to keep the shades down all day. Doing that is what I call impractical.

I think im going to attempt this once the led upgrade is complete and ill remove the current inhabitants and put some sw mollies in to keep it cycled, seeing as I have to manybto count lol. Ill role the dice with the algae issues I do have 2 sea hares on hand that have been around foor quite some time on nori and letus.I could always put 1 of them in there if need be but im thinkn ill be ok. Just not sure how the nem will fare. If it does start to turn ill put him in my established tank.

We have our Zero Edge tank in a room with a huge atrium sky light. It gets tons of natural lighting. But we also have a fixture with (2) 250MH's and (4)T5's, so I don't think it's a comparable situation. However, the tank does great, even with the skylight.
