Since I don't have a couple hundred to spend on a wavemaker, I decided to get a Hydor Flo Deflector. Basically it's a mini powerhead looking thing that you can put on your return, no electrical parts though, all hydro mechanically powered. As the flow goes through it hits an impeller that rotates the whole thing changing the direction of the flow. I put it on the return of my Biocube and it works great. Has a nice steady turn rate without having to buy an expensive wavemaker. For only $10, I think it's a great investment for those wanting a wavemaker type effect without dropping the cash. Here's a link to check it out.

Yeah, they have a max flow rate of 310gph. Great for a nano though.

I saw this a while back at my LFS but didnt take the time to look into it thoroughly

I assume it can also be attached to the return plumbing from the sump, no?

I have one and the only problem I hhave had with it was the my snails like to hitch a ride round and round! Eventually to many attach and then the ride is over, stops spinning cuz of the weight.
