    No coral gets 100% of it's daily carbon budget from photosynthesis alone. There are scientific studies after studies after studies that have proven this. Some people have tanks that have enough zooplankton, bacterioplankton, DOM, and POM to feed the corals. Many peoples tanks do not have these in sufficient quantities and need to add supplementary feeding to their tank routines.
