As you all no i have tmc aqua ray led lighting units but i have a major problem!!!...........They are fab at lighting my tank but unfutunatly the precipitation has got inside one off my 4 units and damaged it. Its flashing like mad so my husband has taken it off.

I just need to no if i can put a sheet off clear perspex between my lights & my tank water to stop them gettin wet? if i do put a sheet of perspex on the top of my tank will it reduce the strength off the light?

    Thanks Kiarah

You can but i think it reduces the light put through.

I think i read somewhere about the aquaray unit letting water get into them. Im pretty sure that TMC found the problem and fixed it, and im also pretty sure if you call them, your lights should still be under a warranty and they should fix it for you and corect the mistake oringially made with the seal.
I cant remember where i read that tho.

I agree, contact the company and ask them about the warranty. As for the perspex, I dont know what that is. Im assuming its a form of plexiglass of some kind. Before you do anything, contact the company first, then take it from there.

Yep - i think Perspex is the english word for plexiglass - or is it plexiglass is the american word for perspex? Oh the conundrum!

    Thanks

Thanks for that my hubby is now on the phone to them & like you said there is a seal problem with all my units they have got gaps all round them & its letting water into the units! My husband said a bit off rubber all round the edge would sort that out. They will want me to send them back but then im stuck for lighting & i have palps & things that need the light so i dont no what i should do!
