I am working a wedding reception that has dried starfish that used to be real. They are dried I was thinking about adding them to the dump as free rubble do you see any issues with adding them. I asked the sister of the bride if they collected them in st. Lucia because thats where the ceremony was and she said the bride ordered them online and really smelled like the ocean. I will post pics thanks

Cool Idea, but without fulling knowing the origin, I would save your tank the long run possible hassle and not do it.

I would not use them at all to be honest

they did not die of natural causes
they where pulled from the ocean alive and then left to dry in order to become interesting ornaments

they sell them where I live
they cost more, than the live ones do, because not everyone has a saltwater tank
but many people will buy interesting ornaments - as such more dried ones are sold than live ones and the sellers recognise a good thing when they see it
thus more starfish are plucked from the sea and left to dry out

say no to dried starfish and coral skeletons IMHO

Not only what Steve said, but they're not like rock or coral skeletons, they will deteriorate and foul your tank.
