Need help picking skimmer!

    Like the title says i am looking to get a skimmer for my 55 gallon tank, with a 20 gallon long sump. i dont have very much room in my first compartment in my sump i have about 6x6 footprint and the water level is about 8 1/2" high. i dont think there is any skimmer that will fit that footprint i could be wrong. so i would either need a hob or and external and the external ones i have found are really expensive so could i go with something like a remorac hob with maxxijet 1200? any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

    Octopus makes a HOB 100. Should do ya. Or the Coralife SuperSkimmer 125, modify that one and your will be good also.

    Google SuperSkimmer Modifications, you'll see. You get rid of the return bubble trap for pvc. And mesh mod the impellar with fishing line. The mesh mod produces very fine micro bubbles which removes more organics from the water column.
