    really blurry pic but i think i see an amphipod up front.

    Yes, that's a copepod.

    In the next waterchange you need to save some old water in a bucket and clean that chaetomorpha off. There is tons of detritus caught in it. Then you can move some of the chaetomorpha back. Sell or throw away the rest of the Chaeto.

    When one uses algae to remove nitrates and phosphates, you haven't actually done an export until you remove that algae from the system.....it's just temporarily bound up.

    i always rinse that sponge in old tank water when i do a water change. but this time some cheato got sucked up in the skimmer pump. so i had to take skimmer out clean it up and mean while some chaeto that is normally in the same chamber as skimmer came loose and ended up in that sponge and some in display.

    Definitely amphipod. We always check our sponge when we clean it LOL.

    i went ahead and cleaned sponge today even though not a water change time and got most of chaeto of there. the rest went into return chamber and will get eatened by the hermits and such. or caught in the filter sock.
