    I have a 16 gallon bow with an AC70 fuge, and a Hydor 1. Ever since I made the fuge, my flow has lowered. I have some hair algae growng. I repositioned my hydor, and improved the flow a little, however the side my hydor is on the flow is minimized. My hydor is currently 2 inches from the surface on the right side of the tank. My Aquaclear is dispersing down the middle of the tank. I was thinking of eighter :

    A. Adding another Hydor 1, and having it on the other side angled downwards towards the other hydor.

    B. Putting a Hydor nano in the lower left hand corner against the back of the tank, to create a circular flow.

    C. Getting a powersweep for the surface,and having the hydor 1 on the opposite end angle downwards.

    Any suggestions. the link below has pics! Thanks!

    I don't have experience with a tank that small, but you might want to try a Maxi-Jet with a mod. I would think you could get the smaller impeller going without creating too much havoc. If you could, your flow problems would be eliminated! A MJ600 with kit would only cost 30 bucks and you would have excellent flow! Good luck!

    One of the problems I have encountered with the maxi jet mod is that it creates a fairly powerful stream of water. I have a mj1200 with the mod and I also have a 55gal. tank. I find that the ph needs all of the four feet to disperse the water and not have it too much in anyone direction. Im not saying this won't work for your tank, but small tanks are more difficult in my opinion to get a flow that will benefit all of your creatures.

    Yeah exactly, that's why I was gonna stick with hydors, because the disperse over a wide and random are. Just not sure if another hydor 1, would be overkill.

    So your flow is as follows

    Koralia-1 = 400GPH
    AC70 = 400GPH
    Total = 800GPH or 50x turnover. A good number.

    If it is not enough, just add a Koralia-nano at an additional 240GPH and that will bump you up to 65x turnover and give you what you need IMO.

    I agree.. I just need something to keep the current moving.. what do you think, put it on the opposite side at the bottom of the tank to make a circular flow?

    Middle of the tank pointed 45 degrees to the back with a slight downward current. You do not want to disturb the sand too much and create a hole with the flow. That's what I would do.

    I have the Koralia 1 in my 24g Nanocube pointed straight at the front bow front glass it gets great flow to the entire tank, as far as the hair algae issue that isnt a flow problem, you likely have a phosphate issue

    I know I have a phosphate issue, and my Current PC fixture came with a 6700/10k bulb, anda 420/460. I'm getting two 10k/40's. Unfortunately there is no 10k/420 option. I do need a little more flow, on the bottom opposite sie of the hydor. DO you have a pic of your 24 setup?

    also my LFS gave me bad water.. time for my own water making!
