Well after talking to a few here I decided to buy the Eshopps PF-800 overflow box for my 125g tank I am building. This PF-800 is rated for up to 125g, however I bought the item on Ebay and just recieved a letter from the seller stating he didnt realise he was out of stock but was willing to upgrade me to the PF-1000 at no eatra cost. Of course I accepted this because, well its an upgrade at no cost..lol.

What concerns me though is the PF-800 was a single overflow box rated up to 125g (800gph) and the PF-1000 is a dual overflow rated up to 200g (900gph) will this be too much water flow going through my sump/fuge? Or will the flow be rated more towards the return pump I use and whatever gph rating it has?

I know its probably a stupid question but I want to do this right the first time with the least amount of problems. ;D

no worrys its not a stupid question at all.
That's the same box i have on my 55. It will only pull for what your return pump is rated.

Not a stupid question at all. The rate of water movement through an overflow is dictated by the return pump. If the return pump is putting 750 GPH back into the tank, then the overflow is limited to draining that much water and no more.

We need to be aware of situations where the rate of return from the pump exceeds the capability of the overflow.

The only downside is the size of the surface skimmer in the tank. If you don't have an issue with that being bigger than go for it. You'll also have extra plumbing to worry about. However on the plus side you have redundancy. If anything gets clogged you have a back-up.
