I just got a naso tang 2 days ago, the guy didn't seem so big at the store. Long story short hes huge, about 6" or so. My tank is 125 gallons, about 4 months old. I have a lionfish, a baby blue hippo, and a trigger. Anyway the naso is concerning me a bit,he seems fine, but I think it may be too big. He doesn't seem to chill much he keeps swimming against the glass over and over like the tank isn't big enough, should I let him get adjusted or is he just too big, im thinking about returning it and getting a smaller one any advice would help, thanks.

returning it and exchanging it for a smaller species of Tang would be a great idea IMHO

from my research on the subject before replying I checked out a few min tank sized requirements for Naso Tangs

I found 4 species listed , the smallest of which was the Lituratus or orange spine Naso Tang and min tank size was 240 gallons and 8 feet long

3 other species of Naso - where all suggested for tanks over 300 gallons

which means even with your 125 gallon tank you do seem to have a fish in there, thats considered by many people to be to large for that volume of water

and it may be displaying the signs of feeling confined in that aquarium
