NEEEEEEEWWWWW Fish

So I have some work to do to it to get it back on track but it arived in stable condition. I got a 8 inch black today. It was attacked by another fish and has a bite on its tail and a big bite on its dorsal fin. When I got the fish it was rough and I set up a qt tank knowing it was going to need some tlc. When I arrived to get it it was hardly breathing and bobbing side to side. I picked this fish up as a Idk what to do with it from this person. I thought it was a gonner but its been in qt for 6 hrs now and treated with meds and starting to do better swimming around and I will be feeding it in the am. Its the biggest black tang I have seen. I will be replacing my other one if this guy makes it with this one. I will be posting pics when I can get them I have the lights off in the qt tank to help stress but I am excited about this guy!

Thanks I will get them up asap! Been a fish I wanted for a while and although I already had one the one I have is 2in and this one will be show ready when healed up!

I could not agree more! It looks worse in person! I bet my wife money it was going to die earlier. now its swimming all over. I am routing for it and taking the time to help any way possible. I will be constantaly monetering the water and changing as needed. IT has been treated for the ick and also the open wonds on it. It has had 24 hrs of treatment for the open sores. I hope it makes it through it! I am giving it 110 percent! Wish me luck!

 

did it have ich when you got it or are you just playing it safe?

Will the fins grow back or just heal?

 

It had ick and was treated for it. It does have some open wonds from the ick. There is no sign of the ick other then the damage it did. The dorsil fin is beat up preatty bad as is the tail. Yes it will grow back and in time this fish could be show quality again. It will take some serious tlc time and paitience to make this a good fish agin but considering how tough these are to get and that they sell for a starting price of 500 I figure I will give it 110 and hope to make is a great addition to my tank. I only look forward to letting it loose in the 220! Just checked on it and its swimming away in the qt!
