Find one bigger, the smaller one that you already have will submit to the larger clown, if the new one is smaller he will get beat up when your first add him.

i am not sure. how old is your current clown? i went with a small one since i could be pretty sure that ist would be young and probably sexually immature. i thought this would make it easier for it to accept its submissive role. in my situation, the agression was very minimal but have read that this is not always the case. i will go back and find the thread where i was asking your questions.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Personally I would not purchase any more fish until the issues with possible brookynella and other fish problems you are having resolve.

Adding more fish into the equation does not seen like a good idea at this time. Not trying to be negative or anythings else, but I think you are adding fish too quickly, there seems to be a few issues going on with your tank/tanks and fish.

This is my 55 gal which isn't having any issues, the clown that died, got caught in a koralia last month. He was perfectly healthy, I'm also not planning on getting him a partner for a while, just wanted to make sure he wouldn't get depressed or anything I've only ever heard of clowns being kept in pairs. I haven't added fish to this tank in months, it was stocked months ago and I really had no intention of adding anymore.

My initial problem came with buying 2 fish infected with brookynella, who 1 died within 24 hours and the other a day or so later all which were in a qt tank. How a clown in my 72 gal that's been in there for months came down with it is still beyond me.

My 220 gallon finished cycling probably 2 weeks ago, and I bought a blue tang which is in qt, and I plan on keeping him there at least 6 weeks. Every tang I have ever had comes down with ich and I want it no where near this tank so I am taking every precaution possible.

    Lesson learned from all this:

2 qt tanks are a must for the just in case when you buy a new fish, and old fish comes down with something!

Thanks for the help! After this brookynella outbreak I may just swear off clowns.... I'm not too lucky with them.

I'd recommend smaller; submission to the larger one is faster if its smaller I think, but then again I'm not so sure so look it up or ask other people
