Has anyone had a nerite snail that would fall off his or her suction during the day? This snail has done it several times, I thought he was dead, lol. Just wondering. thanks... later....

Many species of nerites will lose their suction intentionally. When light or a shadow passes over them suddenly, they'll release their grips and drop to the bottom to escape any perceived predator. If you're out at night and shine the rocks along the shore line, they'll drop off by the hundreds. Sounds like it's raining nerites. Yours is probably being startled by something, or else it just suddenly realizes it's daylight and feels vulnerable, and drops itself off the glass.

    Cheers,
