I got a green with pink tip tenuis today and to my surprise there was an acro crab on the colony :)

    now a few questions:
    1. my wrasses dont pick at it and i dont even think they know its in there but what are the chances of a wrasse getting the crab? also the crab has many hiding places and they are really hard to get to.
    2. how hardy are they?
    3. its been hiding a lot today but hopefully i can get a picture of it soon!

the wrasse probably won't get to him he will probably stay in the branches(unless he tries to move).

make sure its a beneficial crab and doesn't live off the coral itself.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Mine never leaves the inner most branches of my acro. Most of the time I can not even see him. He is braver at night though.

A wrasse would be hard pressed to get a hold of it.
Yesterday was the first time I have ever seen any of my fish go for one of my acro crabs, and I am pretty sure it was because it was molting.

I have a handful of these guys, and you can literally go months without seeing them.

As for health..... as long as they have a viable host, I have never lost one. Even when I lost most of my other inverts (95%) to heater loss, they all survived.

As long as he is not black/brown and fuzzy with blue eyes, I am sure it is a beneficial species. With a pic, I could pinpoint it for you.
