Went to the LFS to spend my Christmas money with the plans to buy a HOB protein skimmer. However I was talked out of it as it was deemed unnecessary for my 29 gallon and a waste of money by the employee (who I trust). Anyhow, I decided it might be more beneficial for me to add more life rock. So I sniffed my way to 9lbs of cured LR, followed buy another Koralia 1, a mushroom, and a trumpet (everyone is loving the extra current with the second koralia). I also caught that menacing emerald crab who was eating my zoo's + GSP and traded my friend for his kenya tree which is still adjusting to the switch. I feel I made the right choice, the tank looks better and I have new stuff to look at. Here are some Pics and let me know what you think!

Love your new additions, but IMO, a skimmer would have been a nice add. After seeing the amount of gunk mine pulls out, Im glad I invested in it, even if it is a seaclone.

Nice new additions, but what is your water change schedule like? I think eventually a skimmer should be added to that system, what were the reasons the employee said not to get one?

Thanks all. The reasons were that I could keep on top of everything with water changes and most HOB are not worth the money. I do a 5 gallon water change every 3 weeks.
