Bought myself a blue tang yesterday, acclimated for about 30 min by adding a little of water into the bag every 5 minutes then released the fish. I have a yellow tang and two clown fish with about 30 pounds of LR on a 55 gallon. My new blue tang seem to like to stay inside of a rock all the time, is this normal ? I have this rock that have really tiny holes in it enough for him to get in and out but seems that he likes to stay there all the time. He comes out for a few seconds and then goes back, is this normal ? Should I be worried or just let the little guy do his thing and when hungry he will eventually come out and eat.

I wouldn't worry too much yet. I've had new fish hide for several days until they're comfortable enough to come out and start roaming around.

I wouldn't worry. Mine hid under a rock when I first bought it as well. It eventually came out and now gets along great with the rest of my fish.

He seems to be coming out more often now but I have noticed he scratches himself against the rock heavily a lot. is this their normal behavior or did I get a sick fish ?
