All the guys (and gals) are great at Premium. I was in there a couple of weeks ago to get my LR. I only live about 1/2 hour away. And they let me pick my own. Great people.

Yeah , my order came great! In addition to the monitor, I got the aquazone ozone generator/controller, and 2 sets of lights....Packed very well, and shipped the very same day I ordered! Outstanding! ;D

I just checked my e-mail and both Jason and American Marine feel I have a defective probe. I will be sending it back for an exchange! (sheesh, I was feeling kindof dumb for a minute!!) LOL

    Great Service from both!!!!!

Thanks! I will let you all know when I get the new one!!!!! ;D

OK!!! Got my new Calcium Monitor today! Woo Hoo!!!!

It would appear they have changed the product ever so slightly!

Take out of box, insert battery. Fill probe with solution (very easy!)

Turn monitor on, dip probe into 100 solution. Wait till Flashes....press enter.

Dip probe into 1000 solution. Wait till flashes...press enter. Got 'good' reading for both.

place probe into 1 to 2 inches of Tank water....get reading! YAAAY!!

    512. That is higher than I thought is was! Seachem test kits says 400. This monitor is supposed to be quite accurate, so I am going to run with that number....it might explain some of the problems I was having balancing my CA and Alk. ;D

THANKS MATT, AND JASON, AND LOU at AmericanMarine!!!!!

I am all hooked up now! The hubby just looks at my table with the PH monitor, CA monitor, Ozone gen with monitor, blah blah....he shakes his head and says "my wife, the mad scientist!" LOL!!! ;D

I'm glad it's working well for you. I've met Jason from Premium a number of times and he's a great guy. I would suspect that your reagents in your test kit were out of date....it happens all of the time. My local club had an event where we had people bring in their test kits and tested the same sample of water. The variability of the results between everyones kits was enlightening to many in attendance. Whenever someone has difficulties with balanced chemistry, I usually recommend that they borrow a friends test kit to see if both tests are at least close to rule out bad reagents.

Either way, a Ca monitor is completely cool. I have a SG monitor and a pH monitor and I love them. Now I want a Ca monitor too. :-/

Thanks! Well, I went to recalibrate (as I had been running it full time for the 10 days to see how the readings fluctuated with the addition or lack of addition of CA supplements) and I had problems again. I was quite excited to have it working,...and now I cannot get it working again! sigh. It's OK tho..it will work out! ;D

I am glad I got to try one out! It is a very complex process according to that article Curt! Thanks for posting it!
