Well about two weeks ago I got my first two clownfish. The manager at the store recommended that I get one a little bigger than the other one, even though I originally asked for two identical size. He said that the bigger one would turn into a female. My understanding was to get them the same size and then one grows larger and becomes the dominant female?!
Well for the past two weeks I've had them in my QT, the larger(female) one keeps on dashing and attacking the smaller male. Quite often and especially when I am around. Poor little guy is getting stressed out and bullied.
Is this normal for the first couple weeks or should I consider seperating them?
My main DT is still in the tuning/cycling process so I will be keeping them in the QT for another week or two.

Personally i never used a QT and never had any issues.. But how big is the QT tank? they could just be getting stressed out.. And its sometimes normal for the female to act the way she is but i would still keep an eye on them.. Once you have them in your tank and they have more room i would imagine that you wont have anymore problems.

Thanks for the reply. It's a small 10 gallon QT. I just don't want to put my 125RR at risk of some outbreaks if I don't QT the fish and corals. It's so time consuming...

Were the two clowns in the same tank at the LFS? Becuase if they weren't it is possible you have bought two females, and the larger of two is trying to establish it terroritory and that is why she is attacking the other. If not don't worry about it that what they do. My Female clown is always attacking the male. Females will do this stressing the male and keeping them from growing to large as it is the size of a clown that starts the transformation process into a female.

I can understand the purpose of you using a qt you have a lot of corals don't want to put at risk. My guess would be two fish in a ten gallon tank is just starting to stress them out a bit
