Thinking about adding a new powder blue tang, brown tang, cleanup crew and some starfish to my tank this weekend now that it is cycled. I can't wait!! I'll post some pics!

Well your getting ready to start yourself a whole bunch of trouble and waste some money in the process.

To start some Tangs need a big tank to be happy in, they like to swim a lot. Most need at least 125g to be happy once they grow for a few years. Second for a new tank I would only add one fish and wait about 1.5 to 2 weeks before you add another to allow the bacteria in the tank to grow so that it can handle the extra load you just added.

Slow down my friend, this is not a drag race.

I would be careful with adding the two tangs at the same time. Especially in a newly cycled (cycling) tank. The stress of adding the two fish at the same time (along with all the other goodies) could cause the fish to be stressed and succumb to the, oh so famous, ick. I'm an impulse buyer and can't help myself sometimes, but, I've definitely paid the price. It could be just fine or, it could be costly.

Was checking e-mail at the same time. I know how eager to are to add life but I just want to make sure you slow down and think. Just like that little one on the way :baby:....they will be depending on you for healthy life. :goldfish:

Waiting for cycling is like watching water boil. Ohhh! 2 years later I still have to reign myself in from time to time.

Use time waiting to read and observe. Lots of neat things will occure in tank.

And, of course, spend lots of time here at 3Reef, reading thru past posts.

    Have fun!

    Good Luck.
