So I'm now done with my cycle, or at least enough to add a fish. So I added a blue damsel. Some may think of them as bottom of the barrel or whatever. But I think this guy has some personality. He has been in there just over a day, he loves to swim in and out of the rock caves and is always swimming about.

I can't decide if I want to get 1 more fish, or try and put a small frag of zoa's on one of my rocks. If I did get another fish I wanted to get a Yellow Watchman Goby, How do you think the goby and damsel would get along? Since the goby's are on the bottom most the time?

Tell me what you guys think.

As always a thread isn't complete without some pictures ;D

its a small tank but I think the goby is prob your best choice for another fish. You could also put a shrimp in there but I would wait a few months on the coral

I would really like a shrimp, but are they hard to care for? Because around here you could probably get two watchmen goby's for the price of 1 shrimp

I have 2 cleaners. No extra care really, aside for some occasional algae wafers that also go to my cuc.

adding a cleaner shrimp or blood shrimp would be an excellent addition. along with the goby. damsels definitely have a personality , and nice addition to your tank. congrats on all youve accomplished so far , and thnx for sharing.

cool...I personally love damsels, esp the blue ones. Why most people do not like them is that they can become highly aggressive when they get older. The other reason is I think a lot of people put damsels in as their first fish just to cycle. they then want to get rid of the damsel and cant catch it!

Gobies are really cool, look at little clown gobies or look into blennys....my favorite blenny is the bicolor, those are definatly very interactive fish. You could also add another damsel to the tank, maybe a yellow tailed?

I would wait a week at least before adding another fish to let everything settle back down

Nice tank & damsel, I'm also a big fan of damsel's, especially my YT. I understand why they get a bad rap, but being a fan of blue fish, they are gorgeous IMO.

I think adding a cleaner shrimp & a midas blenny would be cool. I love my midas, so much personality & is suprisingly very active in the water column too.

Any thoughts on getting a small zoa frag in a week or 2?

IMO I would maybe wait a week or two and then do a small water change and give it another week after that. Check ALL water params to ensure your nitrogen process in going good with no probs then add a small frag.

I also like Yel. watchman w/ Pistol shrimp. :)
