I just picked this guy up from my LFS. It looks like either a montipora or chalice of kind. Any ID help, and advice about placement/waterflow would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Boy that is a hard one. I am going with Chalice.

I would start it out low in the tank, need lighting type.

    Mod flow.

Lights are the stock power-compacts on a biocube 29. so, 72 watts, plus 6 watts of LED Moonlights. I have it at midpoint right now, I can bump it down though

As Cheryl mentioned, if it is a Chalice, then keep it low. Most prefer lower lighting, so they can be kept on the bottom permanently.

i wouldnt put it on the sand perse, because IMO a challice doesnt like sand on them. Put it on the rock near the sand

I found it hiding on the sand bed underneath the frag rack! There is another one there thats a little bigger if you want it. Also, is it a chalice? I thought it was a purple monti when I bought it.

Yeah, I cant get my phone to take good coral macros. Im still gonna leave it down low for a bit, and then bump it up in the tank. hopefully I can figure out if its a monti or a chalice, just cause they have different lighting requirements
