So, since my last fuge busted on me this weekend, I have decided to make a new one out of acrylic. Last time, Otty suggested that I move teh fuge area to one end and have the return in the middle. So here is my new design. The inlet on the fuge side will have walls to separate the inlet and the fuge. What do you all think?
I'll be building this soon since I am sump/fugeless now.

I can see a place were I would add a ball valve to create back pressure and force the water up and over to the fuge area. It would go beyond the split to the inlet on the right side of the sump/fuge. Also, where are you going to put your skimmer?

The drain from the DT will come down on the right side and split with the Tee and also drain into the left side. I figure that will give me some unskimmed water for the fuge macro to eat up before it goes back into the DT. So I should add another ball valve on the right inlet to slow the flow going in there? I'm a bit confused.
My skimmer is a CPR Bak-Pak2, which will be on the right side where the inlet is. I showed it in my top view, but lft it out of my side view. The outlet of the skimmer will flow into the return chamber. If this design isn't so great, I can just do the conventional design with the fuge in the center. I'm open to all ideas. :) Thanks!

With the valves that were suggested it looks functional. That small a return chamber will need topping off with water frequently to compensate for evaporation.

Actually looking at it again the output of your skimmer is in the return chamber. If you have micro bubble issues with the skimmer they will make it up to the tank. If you put the input and output of the skimmer in the right chamber the baffles you have should work to keep alot of the bubbles out of the tank.

Thanks John, and I hope you get some good sleep. Come to think of it, I need some of that too. :) I already cut the acrylic lexan sheet for the walls of my new fuge. I made them the max size I could get into the stand. Next is gluing them together, I have a pint of Weld-On #4. :)

Thanks szrazzt. I never had a problem with microbubbles with the Bak-Pak ever. The drawing wasn't really to scale, but more for section illistration purposes. I don't have too much room to work with though. The max length I have to work with the tank is 21" long. :( I can alter the intake location to enlarge the return chamber as well. As it sits, I'll have to make a top-off system for this. My last fuge design needed a gallon of topoff ever other day.

Is the CPR Back-Pak 2 a large enough Skimmer for your tank ?? I ask because on the 125 gal I am setting up, it came with one also, but when i checked it said it was rated for a 60 gal tank ?
