New, help

Alright guys heres what ive got, i have a 57 gal oceanic illuminata rimless, with a proflex 2 sump and bio ball set-up, with a coralife 65g skimmer, 2 metal halide 150 watt hang on lights. now my question is i have around 50 lbs of live rock in the tank, it all has been established in a tank for 2 years, and has some coraline algae, any suggestions on how to build the coraline up? ive tried purple up, and it has done nothing for my tank, and the tank has been up and running for a month now, am i trying to soon?? my PH is 8.2 calcium is at 400ppm nitrate 0 ammonia 0 and i cannot remember what magnesium is at currently. HELP!

 

That is early. It would also help to know where your magnesium and Iodide is at since coralline algae needs that as a supplement also.

 

when you say established , in someone elses tank or its always been in yours? if someone elses , id just give it time. it will come and then you might end up cursing it. lol. it will be everywhere.

 

by established i mean in someone elses tank, ill check my magnesium and iodine and let you know im just trying to get a jump start on it all, also does anyone know any tricks to make my protein skimmer work like its supposed to?? it rarely fills the cup in one month, im dry skimming, have a maroon clown, a blue hippo tang, a lawnmower blennie, and a few blue/green chromis so i should be producing enough to pull out but it barely works and its in sump
