Mine hid for quite a while atleast a week I would say. Then the ick spots came. It got pretty bad, and didnt want it to spread and I dont have a qt to treat with copper,( I had inverts in the tank.
I treated with Kick Ick. It was kind of a pain, it has a very strict schedule you have to stick with, but it could go directly in the tank, no copper- Im pretty sure copper is what it is- the one that kills inverts. Anyways...
The kick ick worked wonders, after that no spots and it was out and eating all the time

Thanks everyone. I'll give it a couple days and see if things progress. It's a good looking fish so I'm hoping he/she will pull through. Thanks to all for your guidance.

leave it in the tankkkk, leave itttttttttttt :p
i got a blue tang that took a few days to get the spots, and i fed it very well, did more frequent water changes and fed it with garlic guard soaked brine shrimp and mysis at least once a day and now all the spots have gone away.. she had spots on and off for 3 weeks+.. if it's eating, it'll eventually go away, don't stress it out :p

That fish is the reason I use a qt tank...They easily get ich when first introduced to a new tank. It will eventually become more prominent the longer it is in the tank. Mine is about 6 months old and still gets spooked and will try to wedge itself between small crevices.

I've had mine about 5 weeks. He used to come out more before the ick. He still has some spots, but gets spooked too easily. He stays hidden most of the time. If I'm near the glass he hides. I'm hoping when the ick is all gone he'll be more of a swimmer like he used to be. Get some seaweed and I also use Hikari algae wafers. Broccoli is good for the digestive system but they need more than that. Seaweed has the fats and protein they need.

All saltwater tanks have cryptocaryon (ich) hiding out in the substrate, when mine have gotten it due to stress I have never qt'd them (it's never gotten extreme though) because as long as the other fish are healthy and stress free they will be fine and won't get it. Don't worry about it unless it becomes extreme.
