Just picked up a yellow eyed kole tang. Very pretty and super active. Put her in at around 4 and she ate around 6. Already eating algae off rocks. Was wondering what foods should I feed her? Anything special? Anything to watch foe with these fish?

Mine was pretty shy when i got him. Looking quality flake/pellet like formula two and feed dried nori on occasion.

I have one in my 72 and its is one of my favorite fish ever.

It seems to get plenty of greens from my LR and the few macro's that are in my system. I say this because I don't fed the tank dried algae sheets, however it stills makes big green poops. Constantly mowing the lawn.

Otherwise, it readily eats any pellet or frozen cubes that I add.

Nice, i didn't know if i should get a clip and put romaine lettuce in? And how often should i feed nori? I feed a mix of brine shrimp, misis, and arctic pods.

Only "algae" in my tank is cyano. lol But the little guy is eating that so..

I use algae sheets, red and green but my Kole doesnt really eat it. It grazes all day on rocks, Hermit shells, snail shells. It even will "kiss" the tank walls for the green film algae that you get. However mine loves Rod's Food, and formula 2 flake. It will also eat mysis, brine, krill, pretty much anything. You just have to make sure it gets it's greens. Enjoy!

Will the algae buildup on the glass and rock be enough greens? The guy at the LFS fed him formula 2. So maybe i will get some of that.

It will be good but you definately want to get something like a formula two flake that is algae based food for herbivores. I also even got some other brand of algae flake to feed that he really likes, I got it at pet smart but cant think of the brand. I just make sure to feed mine plenty of the flake since he doesnt eat the sheets I put in,,,in fact my starry blennt and dragon goby fight over those. lol
